FTM 36 weeks pregnant and struggling with my situation “down there.” I had a bad experience with an ingrown hair when waxing a year ago, so I haven’t waxed during pregnancy, and I’m so big that I can no longer see anything. I bought a mirror to try to help but I have no energy. I feel insecure with grown out hair, but I’m almost to the point where I’m over it. When I tried to clean it up this afternoon, I saw a hemorrhoid It doesn’t hurt but I’m so mortified and scared that nothing will ever be the same down there. I know that it’s the least of my concerns, but I feel so uncomfortable and so embarrassed. What are you mamas doing about it?

I pretty much kept up with shaving down there with my first until the week I went into labor. And then shaved down there again maybe a week after giving birth lol. I am not a fan of hair down there when I’m on my period, so it had to stay gone while I was healing up.
This go around I’m definitely putting more time between each shave. I’ll probably one shave one more time, closer to my due date.
Any you mean a hemorrhoid in the back, right? Because if you saw some swelling on your lady bits, that’s most likely a varicose vein, and those usually go away on their own after pregnancy. Hemorrhoids will go away, but unfortunately once you get one you’re more likely to get them again in the future :\
I remember feeling self conscious about it with my first pregnancy, but once a whole room of people saw my hooha while I was giving birth, I definitely stopped caring as much

@poppleseed,
thank you!! And yes, it’s a small hemorrhoid. I had one in the past, this one luckily doesn’t hurt so far— I didn’t even realize it was there until I checked with the mirror. I’m nervous to blindly shave, wouldn’t want to accidentally cut myself or get an infection

I bought some clippers and buzz it. It’s a relief. Last pregnancy my husband helped me buzz it before I went in for induction . I have a giant hemorrhoid from my last pregnancy that has made a return. It is what it is. You are creating life and it’s beautiful, no matter what our body looks like.

Absolutely nothing. I’m pushing a child out of my vag in front of people I’ll never seen again, they can deal with seeing hair on my body when I’m literally the size of a whale ♀️

I’ve kept up with waxing, however, I’ve trimmed with a waterproof buzzer in between. There’s a few on Amazon for under $40 bucks.
Also, if ingrowns are an issue, you should try out a good skin oil like Fur or Bush Balm. It’s helped me a ton to prevent skin irritation and ingrowns down there.

I have been trimming and I bought an anti-fog mirror that suctions to the shower wall. That way I can see what I’m doing since I can’t see past my belly anymore. With that said it’s a hack job most of the time but it feels better for me having it cleaned up. If it makes you feel any better, I am SO swollen down there. I also have varicose veins and bruising on my inner thighs/bikini line. I cried when I first seen it all appear in the third trimester. Pregnancy is an incredibly humbling experience haha. But rest assured, we will have normal “down theres” again one day!

Hoping the people who keep mentioning they’ve been using a trimmer can provide a link. I feel like every trimmer I’ve used it pulls on the hair and OMG no thank you it sucks so bad

I got a sugar wax weeks ago and I’m still pretty good. I will get hubby to take a razor down there for me probably tomorrow. I’ll be 38 weeks next Thursday. I’ prefer no hair for postpartum purposes.

I’m a swimmer and usually shave but this pregnancy I didn’t keep up with it at all. I remind myself that doctors and staff see lady bits all day everyday so I’m sure the entire spectrum of au natural to bare bottom doesn’t phase them one bit.

This is my second and for both first and this one my motto has been “I can’t see it right now, not my problem” I do like trim it, but that’s the extent.
I was of the mind set, and still am, that the nurses and doctors don’t give a *** about my vagina or booty hole… they want to deliver a healthy baby. I don’t need nor care to impress them since they are strangers…. Anddddddd I literally have so much else to freak out about, idk just lowest on my priority list I guess. More power to those who keep it neat during pregnancy for real!!
