Hi everybody! Does anyone have any experience with a “footling breech” baby at 36 weeks? (I’m 43 years old.) Did you do the option of a manual intervention to try and spin baby or did you just go ahead and schedule a C-section? I’m scared of the 1% chance that something could go wrong during the manual intervention and will have to C-section at 36 or 37 weeks. But then I’m scared that the baby could come before the 39 weeks scheduled C-section date. Thoughts? Suggestions to your personal situation? Thank you in advance!

bump! I hope other mamas in this position can offer comforting words, and I hope your baby changes to a safer position. I'm sure you know all about spinning babies, I've heard that suggestion a ton for breech babies. know that C-section is not nearly as terrible as some people make it seem, at least in my experience. I was up and walking the following morning (C-section was at 7pm). I could care for myself and my newborn by day 3. Experience and healing can vary person to person but knowing baby is safe and well taken care of is what matters most. all of my love to you guys for a safe delivery!

have you tried turning the baby on your own? Mine was breech when I was 31w and my OB recommended I do prenatal yoga poses that help the baby turn and sitting where my knees are positioned lower than my hips. You can find these positions on YouTube. It actually worked for me! Just got checked this week at 33w and my baby managed to flip! This is my first pregnancy so I’m not sure if at 36w it would be too late for baby to flip?
If my baby happens flip to the breech position again I’m considering a c section instead of the manual flip.

Frank breech mama here. Had a lovely elective section at 39 as she was far too stuck in pelvis to move. I was also worried about going into labour but it’s less likely to happen as baby can’t engage.
I was scared of having a section but honestly recovery has been fine
